4 Environmental modifications for children with autism

Are you wondering how you can provide a clean environment for your child on the autism spectrum?

One of the most important ways to support children on the autism spectrum is through environmental modifications. These modifications can help them feel more secure, comfortable, and relaxed in their environment.

I’m going to share with you some environmental modifications for children with autism that you can consider when you’re trying to clean up your child’s environment.

#1 Wi-FI radiation

Let’s start with the one thing that I see most commonly that many autistic parents are not aware of and that is Wi-Fi radiation. Wi-Fi radiation is so common and many parents have Wi-Fi running through their houses all day and night long.

Let’s start by talking about where your child sleeps. If your child is sleeping in a room with a Wi-Fi router, please get them out of the room or get the Wi-Fi router out of their bedroom.

This is something that I see so common because everybody is using Wi-Fi these days.

One thing that you can do is turn your router off at night.

Next, I look at ways where you could hardwire things into the wall so that you can still use some electronics that can be used via ethernet connections.

#2  Cleaning Products

If you have not taken a step to look at the cleaning products you’re using in your house, I highly suggest you do this. A lot of the chemicals are in the products causing our children issues such as asthma, allergies, eczema, and many other issues.

It is important to evaluate and make sure you’re using products that are safe and nontoxic around your children when you clean your house.

There are so many different products out there that you should consider using the Environmental Working Group and checking the grade on household products before purchasing them.

#3 Air Quality

Improving your child’s air quality is an important step toward cleaning up his/her environment.

Check your home to make sure you don’t have any mold issues going on.

Make sure the air is clean by keeping your air filters changed on a regular basis.

It is important that no one is smoking in your home around your child.

All of these things will help your child to gain a better quality of life through a clean environment.

#4 Drinking Water

Clean water is another important aspect of helping in lowering your child’s toxic load.

Make sure your child is drinking clean filtered water.  Giving your child water that is not filtered is like pouring toxins into their body.  This is not what we want to do.

Clean water is so important to improving your child’s quality of life, make sure you are paying attention to it.

I hope you found these tips useful.  Start by eliminating the radiation, clean up your child’s water supply, and air quality, and look at the chemicals you’re using to clean up your house.

All of these things can help lower your child’s toxic load and lead to a better quality of life.
