How to warm the mixture before putting it in the machine?
When making gluten free or dairy-free ice cream, it is important to bring the mixture to a low simmer. You don’t want to overcook this mixture but you want to allow it to thicken. However, it is important not to overcook the mixture, as this can make the ice cream grainy. For best results, cook the mixture until it is just starting to set, then remove it from the heat.
Allow the mixture to fully cool and then place it in the refrigerator for a few hours before putting it in the ice cream maker. I normally prep the ice cream mixture the night before so I can give it enough time to set. By following these simple tips, you can enjoy delicious gluten-free and dairy-free ice cream that is perfect for any occasion.

Benefits of homemade ice cream
Ice cream is a delicious treat that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. While store-bought ice cream can be convenient, there are many benefits to making your own ice cream at home.
For starters, homemade ice cream is often more affordable than buying it from a store. In addition, you have complete control over the ingredients that are used, so you can make sure that the ice cream is made with healthy and natural ingredients.
Finally, the process of making ice cream can be fun and satisfying, especially when you get to share the finished product with friends and family. Whether you’re looking to save money, eat healthier, or simply enjoy a new hobby, making your own ice cream is a great option.
Vanilla ice cream ingredients
Coconut cream – coconut cream is so thick and creamy, it makes an excellent base for ice cream. In fact, many commercial ice creams use coconut cream as a base instead of milk or cream. The high-fat content in coconut cream helps to give the ice cream a rich texture, and the mild flavor of the coconut pairs well with other flavors such as chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla.
Note: When making coconut cream-based ice cream at home, it is important to use full-fat coconut milk or cream in order to get the best results. Otherwise, the ice cream may be too icy or melt too quickly.
Oat milk – oat milk can be used in place of dairy milk to create a delicious and dairy-free treat. You can also substitute for almond milk if needed.
Salt – provides a contrast to the richness of the butter or oil in the recipe
Egg yolks – egg yolks play an important role in making vanilla ice cream. They help to create a smooth and creamy texture, while also providing a rich flavor profile. In addition, egg yolks help to thicken the mixture, preventing it from freezing too hard. As a result, egg yolks are an essential ingredient in any good vanilla ice cream recipe.
Maple syrup – is often used as a flavoring in vanilla ice cream. The sweetness of the syrup compliments the richness of the cream and the two flavors work well together. In addition, maple syrup helps to bind the ice cream and prevents it from melting too quickly. As a result, adding a few spoonfuls of maple syrup to your ice cream recipe can help to create a delicious and creamy treat.
Cookies (Optional) – this gives the ice cream a unique flavor and texture and also helps to bind the ingredients together. However, cookies are not essential to the recipe, and many people prefer to make their vanilla ice cream without them.

How to make vanilla ice cream:
Place all ingredients in a blender and allow to mix thoroughly.
Place mixture into the boiler and bring to a low simmer. Do not overcook this. Remember it has egg yolk in it so you want to stir and allow it to thicken.
Once thickened, remove from heat and allow to cool completely.
Once completely cool, place in a covered glass dish or mason jar and keep in the fridge for several hours. I prep the day before I plan to make ice cream so I don’t have to wait for the cooling process.
Follow the instructions on whatever ice cream machine you are using. Before the ice cream is done, add the cookies.
After the ice cream is complete, you can transfer it to a dish and put it in the freezer if you prefer or eat it as is.
Serve with your favorite toppings.
How to make ice cream without an ice cream maker
Although ice cream makers are readily available and relatively inexpensive, it is entirely possible to make delicious ice cream without one.
The most important thing is to start with a good recipe. Once you have the recipe, you will need to gather your ingredients and prepare the mixture according to the instructions. Once the mixture is ready, it can be frozen in a traditional ice cream maker or in a simple container.
Once the ice cream is frozen, it can be enjoyed immediately or stored in the freezer for later. No matter what method you use, making your own ice cream is a fun and delicious way to beat the summer heat.

How to store homemade ice cream?
Most people don’t realize how easy it is to make delicious ice cream at home. And once you’ve tasted the difference between store-bought and homemade, you’ll never go back! The key to making great homemade ice cream is to start with high-quality ingredients, and that includes using fresh, local produce whenever possible.
Once you’ve made your ice cream, it’s important to store it properly so it doesn’t melt or get freezer burn.
Here are some tips for how to store homemade ice cream:
- Transfer the ice cream to an airtight container before storing it in the freezer. This will help keep out unwanted flavors and aromas from other foods in your freezer.
- If you’re not planning on eating the ice cream right away, store it in the freezer for up to two months.
- When you’re ready to eat the ice cream, let it sit at room temperature for about 15 minutes before serving. This will help it reach its ideal consistency.
